EXCELLENT experience! I'm an amateur rockhound and gemologist, so of course I had to try emerald polishing. I polished three emeralds - kept one (as the class allows) and was able to purchase the other two at a very reasonable amount. It was fun and informative learning from a gemologist and actually shaping then polishing the emeralds. My Spanish is not not that great but the guide spoke English. Afterward the guide took me upstairs for a guided tour of their emerald/mineral museum -WOW! I've been to the Harvard University Museum's Hall of Rock s and Gems, and many times to the American Museum of Natural History in NYC and I have to tell you, Caribe has an excellent, first rate museum that stands equal to the two museums I just mentioned. It was laid out well, descriptive, and the pieces they had on display were breathtaking. When in Cartegena - DO THIS CLASS!!!

Andres Julio and Nayibe were amazing!!! I loved my ring and pendant. Please ask for them….. also the polishing experience was so fun!!!
