You might want to work up an appetite for this one, because you’ll be joining one of our hosts to slurp your way through Tokyo’s ramen scene together (we promise, slurping is good manners). You’ll head to a neighborhood of your choice, depending on your vibe, to discover the hundreds of styles of ramen that you can try in Tokyo. See just how incredibly diverse Japanese ramen can be, with each region imparting its own stamp on the classic dish. Your host will also teach you how to order from ramen vending machines and the etiquette of eating it. Within 24 hours after booking you'll receive a short questionnaire about your personality and interests. Based on your responses, you'll be assigned a like-minded host. Your host will communicate with you directly to suggest an itinerary to help you discover what makes the city unique. You will also agree on a meeting time and place. Your itinerary is flexible, so during the experience, you can always change your mind about what you want to do.

From the online Viator description of the Ultimate Ramen Experience in Tokyo, we assumed we would get to experience several small samplings from different ramen shops. Instead as we started our tour we were given a full order of ramen. When we proceeded to the next location we were so full that we couldn’t eat anymore. It would have been better and more cost effective for us if the description of the tour didn’t lead us to believe that we were going to sample many types of ramen
