About the Ancient Rome Tour 

You start at the meeting point, where you meet your guide. Then, let's get the tour started! At the Colosseum you get an explanation about the special construction and why it is still seen today as an engineering marvel. When you go inside, you see the Roman numerals above the long ticket lines. Once inside, go to the first and second floors of the Colosseum, where your guide brings history back to life by telling about the emperors, gladiators and famous battles that make the Colosseum of Rome a celebrated monument.

With this knowledge, you will understand the second part of the tour better: a walk through the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill. You walk past the impressive Arch of Constantine, while you learn about the story of the birth of Rome and his twin Romulus and Remus. Once in the Forum, you walk past the Arch of Titus, the House of the Vestal Virgins and the burial place of Julius Ceasar! Then continue to Palatine Hill, where the emperors ruled the city.

  • If your tour starts at 2:00 PM you may not be able to join the Palatine Hill tour, in this case you can choose to do it for the Colosseum tour or the day after
