We booked the Columbia Icefields Parkway tour with Discover Banff Tours for 4 adults and 1 child, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Tina. From the very beginning, she was punctual, welcoming, energetic, and engaging, instantly making us feel comfortable and excited for the day ahead.
Throughout the journey, Tina kept us informed and entertained with her wealth of knowledge about Banff National Park, the history of the glaciers, the surrounding mountains, wildlife, lakes and the beautiful rivers we passed along the way. She explained everything clearly and in detail, making sure we always knew what to expect when we arrived at the Icefields Parkway. Her guidance about the process of boarding the buses, transferring to the glacier exploration truck, and then moving on to the Skywalk was extremely helpful.
One of the highlights was our stop at Bow Lake, where Tina not only shared insights about the area but also kindly took our family photos. At lunchtime, she chose a perfect riverside spot for a picnic that made the day feel even more special. Later, we had an incredible experience walking on the Athabasca Glacier, and on our return to Banff, Tina surprised us with a stop at Peyto Lake—again helping capture amazing family memories with photos.
What stood out the most was Tina’s attentiveness and her ability to engage everyone, including our daughter, who absorbed so much about the mountains and glaciers thanks to Tina’s storytelling. She made the trip interactive, fun, and educational.
Tina is not only very knowledgeable and professional but also friendly, organized, and thoughtful. She made sure our entire group was comfortable, safe, and well taken care of. Thanks to her, our Columbia Icefields tour was truly memorable and exceeded all of our expectations.
We would happily book another tour with Discover Banff Tours—and we would especially request Tina as our guide again. Highly recommend her to anyone visiting Banff!
Posto meraviglioso, sbalorditivo. Il migliore di tutte le Montagne Rocciose. Le valutazione però è dovuta al fatto che è inaccettabile che un paese come il Canada permetta di “uccidere” un ghiacciaio facendoci camminare migliaia di persone ogni giorno. La cosa assurda è che durante il cammino per arrivarci, ci sono cartelli informativi che spiegano e segnano l’estensione del ghiaccio nelle diverse annate storiche. Come a prenderti in giro sul tema dello scioglimento dei ghiacciai chinandosi come sempre al Dio denaro. Oltre al danno anche la beffa. Pessimi
A wonderful, breathtaking place. The best in the entire Rocky Mountains. However, my rating is due to the fact that it is unacceptable that a country like Canada allows a glacier to be “killed” by letting thousands of people walk on it every day. The absurd thing is that on the way there, there are information signs explaining and marking the extent of the ice in different historical years. It's like they're mocking you about the melting of the glaciers, bowing down as always to the god of money. Adding insult to injury. Terrible.
