This is a must do tour and should be at the start of your vacation but will enjoy and learn even if you have been to Key West before. Several people had said “Don’t pay for a tour, just walk on your own.” So glad I had already booked this tour. Our guide, A.J, was fantastic! We started outside the Kino Sandal Store and ended the tour with AJ taking our picture at the Southern most point ionic landmark. He knew how to take a great picture without waiting in the long line. That alone was worth the price of the tour! AJ stopped in the shade (thank you!) to tell us about local buildings, history of Key West with funny tidbits thrown in. We learned so much about Key West in a short (an hour and 15 minutes I think) and entertaining way. He books 10 or less people in a tour and uses an ipad to bring the history to life with old pictures. AJ shared places to visit: buildings, tours, activities, restaurants and local bars. My husband enjoyed the tour also even though I pushed him to go. Our tour started at 9:00am when it is cooler and quiter. Yes, I would recommend this tour and the local guide AJ! Most of the pictures I included are from the tour and the 2 from Mallory Square Sunset Celebration are reminders of the many free and fun activities to do in Key West. We did this tour instead of the trolleys/trains for the more personal and up close touch but would still benefit and learn if already have done a ride on tour. This walking tour does not go inside any buildings. It guides you on the culture and history of Old Key West and what moulded it into todays Key West.
