While the hotel stay in Luxor and transportation logistics were excellent, the tour itself was a letdown. Due to weather, we missed both the hot air balloon and felucca ride—unfortunate, but understandable. The real issue was the lack of engagement from our guide, who spent most of the time talking to the driver instead of us. The driver, in turn, was often on his phone or speeding through sites without giving us a chance to take photos or ask questions.
There was no real structure to the tour. At major stops like the Valley of the Kings, we were simply dropped off and told to explore on our own. I can’t recall one meaningful takeaway from the guide, which made this feel like a missed opportunity—especially for the most expensive tour we booked during our trip.
This tour has potential but needs serious improvements in guide interaction and itinerary flow.
