Ganztägige Tour im Geländewagen: Skywalk und Rabacal „25 Fountains Levada Walk“

This tour was very enjoyable! Our guide Rui was a lovely person and so knowledgable in all the flora and fauna around us. We liked the fact that we got to the start of the levada walk before everyone else so that you get a bit of peace and quiet to enjoy the first bit of the walk. Also with the 4x4 you are closer to the start of the tunnel walk then others in coaches. It does get busy a bit later but we were expecting that. We enjoyed the 800m dark tunnel - it was quite dark but nothing that a phone torch couldn't handle and you had to watch where you were walking as there puddles of water around. The levada walk was so lovely and calming next to running water and the waterfall was good. After that, the tour in the open jeep was so exciting, going through some woods of eucalyptus and yellow broome that smelled incredible. Rui's skills of driving are amazing, you are 100% safe with him. You will emjoy some incredible views over the cities and ocean. Lunch was at a nice local restaurant and had good choice of food at very reasonable prices. The view at the skywalk was good and less crowded as we went there late afternoon. The guide Fransisco was really friendly and knew lots, the walk itself was beautiful, the jeep wa sfun and the sky walk is very cool.

We went on the tour with our 9 year old daughter. We all really enjoyed the whole day, our driver, Raphael, entertained us with his knowledge of the Island and made the experience more fun for everyone! The day started with a pitstop for a coffee / drink etc before heading to the tunnel leading to the 25 Fountain Levada walk. I would recommend taking a torch for this part, although phone torch was ok, brighter would be better. You also ideally need waterproof walking shoes & a pakamac too as it's quite wet inside the tunnel. The walk is approx. 3 hour round trip along mostly flat paths with some steps. Some parts can get quite narrow with a steep drop so not suitable for young children I'd say 8+. Very lovely walk with pretty surroundings and the waterfalls are beautiful. Next stop was lunch, fantastic local food with great friendly service. After lunch we enjoyed some offroading fun & a drive with mountain views then onto the skywalk which was quite an experience. We would highly recommend this tour, excellent all round fun day!
