As part of a visit to Romania, we chose, based on a recommendation, to take Adrian's as travel guide for a day outside of Bucharest, which would include a collection of notable sites.
We came to him through a friend's recommendation.
The trip was to the northern province called Transylvania and included the resort town of Sinaia, where the first Romanian King's Palace is located, as well as several other royal buildings and a small monastery. From there we drove to Bran Castle (branded as Dracula's Castle) and ended with a visit to the old city of Brasov.
Beside Adrien being a European gentleman, we were very impressed by the knowledge that he demonstrated about the sites we were at and much more. His deep acquaintance and love for Romanian culture and history is reflected in his explanations, which also contain quite a few piquant details that are not always found in official history books. His extensive knowledge of the history of Europe in general also permeated the topics that were raised and we left the trip with a load of fascinating knowledge.
The Van he used had 7 seats so that anyone who got tired could throw themselves in the back seat and have a nap. He made sure to bring soft drinks, water and snacks (fruits and nuts) for the trip. Although there was a "must have" list of destinations , there was also the freedom to choose something else if we felt like it, while moving, and we did.
If you are looking for a real European/Romanian experience with a charming guide who is rooted in the local landscape, Adrian is your person. We recommend it wholeheartedly.
