Poenari Fortress is a great chance to dig in some centuries-old history, but also a good way to exercise as you have to go up 1,480 stairs. But, don’t worry too much. The fortress is more than worth the effort, and you can always reward yourself with some of the many traditional sweets sold at the foothills.
Unfairly associated with the myth of Dracula, Vlad the Impaler most likely never set foot in Bran Castle.
Don’t go there to find out more about this legendary prince, choose instead the fortress of Poenari that he actually built and used during his battles.
The dam was built in 1965 on the Arges river. This was the first valley arch dam in the country. It is a 166.60 m high, and 305m long. Its base thickness is 25m, the top is 6m thick.
The Princely Court of Targoviste was conceived as a complex of edifices serving both as a center of the country’s administration and a home for the Wallachian ruler, his family and for the numerous courtiers and ministers.

I had a really good time with Andrei at the real Fortress of Dracula even if I had to climb 1480 steps. Everything worth it, especially the great views from upthere. The history behind this place it's awesome and I highly recommend Andrei on this tour!!!
