About this tour
You will be picked up in the lobby of your hotel to bring a visit to the 'Athens War Museum of the Greek Armed Forces'. Greek military history will be presented here on four levels. After this, the tour leads you towards the "G. Averof" battleship museum. The battleship Averof played an important role in the Greek navy during the Balkan War (1912-1913). After 44 years of loyal service it is now exhibited as a monument and tribute to the Greek navy. Individuals, school, institutions and organisations use it for educational goals. The last stop of the tour is at the 'Phaleron War Cemetery' where you can visit the 'Athens Memorial'. The 'Athens Memorial' commemorates the nearly 3000 victims who lost their lives during the campaigns in Greece and Crete between 1941 and 1945.
