This is a great experience and if you have lunch the food is amazing. They also accommodate dietary requirements including coeliac.

Wonderful experience learning about the history of Penfolds and the wine making process. Tastings were delicious and the paired lunch was among the best of our trip. Must do in Adelaide.

Our second visit after ?25 years. It’s a good tour but intense.Over 150 years +of history and lots and lots of wine.
We found arrival poor, the 11am crowds quite large and the cellar door reception not well organized.
When we got going Ivan was very knowledgeable and our group quiet but fun.
Cellars walk good then a sit down taste of 6 decent wines ending with a drop of young Grange Shiraz 2020 which sells for $1000.
The bad bit was lunch, we were all split into tables for 2 in the Magill Cafe not the good restaurant and the menu and wines were set, no choice.
King fish starter was good, some tough beef and salad, poor sticky toffee pudding.(3Wines)
The room very busy ,noisy and the chair cold unpadded. It was good to get out and away.
At the end of December opening hours were weird due to closed periods in the Australian way of closures during high season!
I strongly recommend a short tour and eating only at the main restaurant.
But don’t miss a walk down to the historic Penfold family cottage which was not included in the walk about.
We came back to the city by public bus from near by stop it was more fun than a taxi.
