Ultimate Penfolds Magill Estate Experience

Fabulous activity exploring the history of Penfold estate and tasting some of their iconic wines. We tasted a 2018 Grange and several other wines, Anna our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. It was a great activity for my friends birthday.

Great experience at Penfolds. We did the tour and added an additional tasting as we had plenty of time to relax there as we waited for a late night flight. Our tour guide was Ivan and he was very knowledgable and friendly. It was a pleasure to discuss the wine with him and learn more about the history of Penfolds and their winemaking processes. We also enjoyed some small plates for lunch at the restaurant. The wines are exceptional and all of the staff we interacted with were professional and helpful.

You get what you pay for and it is worth it. We had a small group of four people who joined Will, our guide. We had an unexpected visit to the original home of the Penfolds and a tour of certain parts of the winery. Understanding this is not where most of the wine is made, it was still worth hearing the history and having a more intimate discussion among ourselves. The four people on the tour enjoy wine and understand wine; this made the tour even more special. Our tasting included six different types of Penfolds wine, including the Grange. We didn't talk about berries, tobacco, fruitiness, etc. Instead, we talked about the wines themselves and how they came about as a Penfolds wine. We stayed for lunch and shared a bottle of Bin 389. A lovely day, good company, and a great tour guide.
