We had an amazing time at the food tour ! Would recommend it a 100%. Alex was great and is very knowledgeable about the Yucatán food. He took us through the local markets, walked us through the food history of the Yucatán peninsula and answered all our questions. All the food was fresh and beautifully made. We got to try a lot of food in just 3 hours.

Our guide was well-informed, friendly, and kind. The food was authentic, delicious, and well worth a gastronomic tour! However, 4 out of the five members of our party got seriously ill with some type of stomach bug. We strongly suspect that we got this bug during the food tour. The tour takes place within the city market of Merida where proper hygienic conditions among vendors seem to be lacking. The tour is a great idea but the tour company must guarantee that the vendors with whom they partner keep the highest hygienic standards to minimize food safety incidents. We spent the next four days of our trip to Yucatan sick in our hotel room.

By chance, we found this tour and booked it for the next day. We are so grateful we found it!! Anette was a fantastic guide and shared so many details about Mérida culture. This was certainly the highlight of our trip!! It was reasonably priced especially with how much food is included. Highly recommend!!
