I read on the web that Batu caves is one of the most visited by tourists and thought then it should probably be more interessting than it seemed. I was wrong! It is a dirty cave with metal barrs everywhere to for example keep tourists in the right place. It ruined the feeling of the cave. So was disappointing and I had rather been without it. Especially since there were an enomous amount of steps to climb up. Took a while and I was afraid to fall and roll down among the crowd of people walking up and down at the same time. We had two more stops for our bus. A batik - pattern paint on scarves, and a tenn/tin metal maker place. It was a bit interessting, but not really my thing either of it. Better than wondering around without a plan in Kuala Lumpur, though.

One of the main reasons that I wanted to go to KL was to see the Batu Caves and they didn't disappoint. The main cave is dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is beautiful. The gold statue is huge and there are a lot of images of Murugan and his family. I didn't know much about the Hindu religion and learned quite a bit. It was a great experience and a must do for anyone visiting KL. We arrived at 8 am when it opened and there were very few people there which was nice. We also visited the cave dedicated to Lord Rama. It is also very nice.

It's absolutely shocking how some reviews have mentioned this the Batu Caves are dirty,full of trash and monkeys. I want there to visit ans climbed up the Caves 2008 and again I visited few days ago my experience has always been amazing. It's such a beautiful place infact you don't even notice the bit of dust on the floor and the monkeys are part of the tourist attraction. They are harmless and don't even come near the people visiting. If you want to experience nature it its best this is a beautiful place. Please don't be put of by the ridiculous comments. I mean for the people who are visiting and think it's a trash, well my take on that is they might as well sit all day in there 5 star hotels and not come to such placed. Of course in any type of nature and cave setting you will see what you see at this temple. Actually for the children and even myself it was a great pleasure to be able to feed the monkeys and for such a small price. The Caves are worth the visit and if you manage to get up the stairs which seems alot but aren't at all you will totally be astonished. It's cool, peaceful and the setting it's just so beautiful. I can't upload the pics to the review or else I would, I've captured so many great clicks of the Caves,so if like myself you like photography you will be busy for sure. Don't miss this place and be put of by the reviews..it's surely a place that will be memorable
