Visit Anthony Hunte's masterpiece garden. This garden is one that many well travelled people say is their favorite in the world and many more calling it the most enchanted place on earth. After a unforgettable visit to Hunte’s gardens we will make our way to Barbados’s very own surfers paradise “Bathsheba” Bathsheba is situated on the East Coast of Barbados and is well known for its pounding surf. Leaving Bathsheba we will make our way up to Cherry Tree Hill and St Nicholas Abbey. Nicholas Abbey. This Plantation House is likely the last remaining authentic house of the 17th Century that exists anywhere in the "New World". The Plantation produces award winning rum and they are always delighted to offer you a sample. Please ensure that you choose the option you wish at the time of booking. At St Nicholas Abbey there is the choice of doing the House or Heritage Railway tour or doing both but this option must be selected at the time of booking.

Because the Barbados pier is used for both cruise ships and cargo, you will most likely take a shuttle bus to the cruise terminal. On exiting the terminal you will arrive at the gate departure area. Our Excursions depart from Gate 1. A representative from Beautiful Barbados Tours & Excursions will meet you in this area. He or she will be holding a Beautiful Barbados Tours & Excursions sign and will direct you to your tour vehicle. We can't stress enough the importance of being on time for all trips.

Efficient on-the-ground operation, excellent driver/guide, plantation train ride was informative, Bathsheba beach is gorgeous (too little time there), and Hunte’s Garden was amazing. But when you book this, you are asked to choose among three options - train, house, or combo - which is not detailed in any way in the description. Note they refer to the plantation portion and only the combo option provides all the things described in the itinerary, notably the gardens at the plantation, the historic house tour, and the distillery tour with rum tasting. We chose the train option, understanding we would not get the historic house tour. But in fact the gardens at the plantation, distillery, and rum tasting are only available with the historic house tour. We literally sat around doing nothing for an hour while other members of our tour completed those activities.

This was a great tour! As repeat visitors to Barbados we were looking for something different and this tour was excellent. Lisa was a wealth of knowledge about the island. First we went to St Nicholas Abbey working sugar cane plantation producing rum and unique liqueurs. January-May you can watch them processing the sugar cane up close like they have for hundreds of years. You also tour the house, watch a video and do a rum tasting. Then we rode the steam train out to a beautiful look-out spot. Our next stops were Bathsheba rocks along the coast and the only remaining intact windmill. Last we went to Hunte’s garden for an hour. The garden was probably the most beautiful and peaceful of any garden we have ever seen. Definitely a must-do. They do serve drinks and snacks- you may just need to ask at the gift shop.

Calvin is the man! We got picked up on time, had a very clean and well maintained vehicle, and got so much great information about the island throughout the drive. Hunte's Gardens is beautiful and I would highly recommend getting some of their ginger lemonade before you leave. The distillery was fun and the guide there was also lovely. Good rum, but the highlight was the train for sure!
