About the monument
To commemorate that Christopher Columbus chose to disembark in Barcelona's harbour after his voyage to America, the Columbus Monument was built at the end of La Rambla. You can admire the sculpture from outside, but even better is the view from above. Take the elevator to the gallery at the top and enjoy the gorgeous panoramic views of Barcelona. In the North you can see the Gothic Quarter and the bustling Rambla. In the South you will see Mount Montjuic with the castle at the top. Below, you can see the old harbour and industrial port. And there are many more iconic sights that you can admire from above!
You can complete the experience with a wine tasting; taste four selected wines from the four Original Regions: Catalunya, Alella, Penedès and Pla de Bages.
