About the Zoo

The Barcelona Zoo was founded in 1892 in the Parc de la Ciutadella. Since the opening of the zoo, the park has grown year after year and now has more than 4000 animals from 400 different animals in the wild. Come and see how they live in an environment that reproduces their natural environment.

The park is a perfect place for a day out! Visit some of the most popular areas in the zoo. One of the most popular areas for children is The Farm. Meet and feed ponies, rabbits and donkeys in the farm. At the Titi Monkey Gallery you will find more than 6 types of the smallest and cutest monkeys. They will melt your hearth! Visit Palmeral, where you can take a walk along several aviaries full of beautiful and colorful cockatoos, macaws and parrots. You also have the reptile house and Aquarama where you can enjoy a fantastic dolphin show!
