The Forbidden City was the imperial palace from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is located in the middle of Beijing, and now houses the Palace Museum. For almost 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.

Lucy was our guide on this private tour. She is a good storyteller and super efficient. This is something we greatly appreciated - besides being on a short time budget in Beijing, it was super cold that day. We very much appreciated not having to wait for the car during pickup drop off at various sites. Lunch was at a good dumpling place with various vegetarian options. Overall a great experience. Highly recommended.

This is a full day tour and a good pair of comfortable shoes are advised! Subject only to that expect a great time visiting Temple of Heaven, Tian’anmen Square, Forbidden City and vicinity - places full of history and stories. We enjoyed our trip tremendously, thanks to Anson who shared his vast professional knowledge tirelessly with us and went out his way to ensure that our preferences would be taken care of. In fact, Anson makes great company too and his personality made our tour fruitful, delightful and insightful all at once. Thanks for choosing and selecting the vegetarian dishes for me too – they were delicious! And good coordination with our driver means that we get picked up at the right spots in a timely manner! We had an excellent time with Becky exploring Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and Temple of Heaven. She is very knowledgeable and her English is the best we have had in China among many other private guides. She took us for a delicious lunch in a clean place afterwards.
