The city is famous for its basilica - the Santuário do Bom Jesus do Matosinhos - and the soapstone sculptures from the 18th century. The highlight of the tour is Aleijadinho’s work, such as the sculptural masterpieces of the twelve Prophets, carved in soapstone and his sculptural representation of the Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross), done in polychromatic woodwork. The set of life-sized sculptures is Brazil’s greatest artistic treasure. Aleijadinho is considered one of the best artists in the baroque style in the world and in Congonhas you may find some of his best pieces. Tour guide and roundtrip transfer included.

Cidade pequena e acolhedora. Profetas arte pura, vista de cima linda! Quem vai pela rodoviária fica horas esperando o ônibus q passa lá encima. Já q é um ponto turístico deveria ter de 30 em 30' no mínimo. Tem táxi na rodoviária com valor bem maior q Uber, já q não tem na cidade Uber. Se for de carro tranquilo!

Os profetas são lindos a vista da igreja e ela própria é linda! Opção de ônibus p subir ou descer p a igreja passa gdo ele quer. Uma cidade turistica deveria ter um ônibus pelo menos de meia em meia hora p rodoviária da cidade. Não tem Uber, então se vc for de ônibus fica na mão dos taxistas q cobram o q querem!

Ver as obras do artista Aleijadinho é uma experiência única. Se fosse no exterior ele seria muito mais valorizado. Não deixem de visitar o Museu de Congonhas.
