* This tour requires at least one of the following per booking: Adult, Senior
A queer king, a gay mayor, Marlene Dietrich in Blue Angel, David Bowie in the ‘70s, Audre Lorde in the ‘80s: Berlin has long been a magnet for LGBTIQ icons and allies.
From the wild days of the 1920s and the dark days of persecution under the Nazis through to the Cold War. Hear about the club scene of the 90s, the unlikely queer icon Frederick the Great, and the life of the openly gay Nazi, Ernst Röhm. Explore world-famous, Schöneberg, once the central district of the sapphic Berlin, home of philosopher and war journalist Erika Mann, chronicled by painter Otto Dix and writer Christopher Isherwood.
Discuss the queer community of Berlin and all the communities it intersects with by visiting Kreuzberg, where as far back as the 1600's, many waves of LGBTIQ and immigrant diasporas have come to determine "nobody flees without a reason".
On this tour we accept anyone that considers themselves LGBTIQ, an ally, or who’s just plain interested. Everyone is welcome!

This tour was quite entertaining and the guide was very knowledgeable. I had fun and the group was very entertained as well. The walk was historical and sightseeing worthy.

Overall ->
The walking tour was nice. I definitely recommend it if you are interested in queer history in Berlin or want to know queer neighbourhoods. I visited some places but didn't pay attention to a symbol or the name of places. A guide showed and explained them well. There was a highlight at the end of the tour. But this time I only had to imagine it :)
Prepare ->
No worry about the walking distance. Because we get on a train 2 times (to save money, a 24-hour ticket works in case you plan to get to another place before/after the tour) and there was a short break to eat/drink and refresh.
Guide ->
Scott is friendly and enthusiastic to answer your questions for each stop. (It's just no one had a question during the tour ????). At the end of the tour, Scott is also there to answer questions not necessarily related to history.

Scott is very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour takes you off the tourist spots and is very informative about how lgbt history is ingrained within Berlin society and how it still is. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. It’s not a strenuous walk and it’s extremely engaging.
