It takes ~60 meters / 200 feet elevation to climb up from the river. The Chain bridge is currently closed, you can cross the river from Pest by M2 subway or one of the other bridges.

We visited the Buda Castle district with Noémi - we got lucky having her full attention as we were the only ones signed up for a late March 3-hour tour. Noemi was very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing her deep knowledge of Hungary’s history, showed us around Matthias Church, Fishermen Bastion, Castle area keeping us engaged with interesting facts and stories. Learned a lot in an entertaining way not only about history, but how she experiences and sees life in Hungary today - no questions are off limit. Coffee and cake stop was refreshing boost close to the end of the tour. Big thank you, Noémi!

Outstanding tour! Nomi was a great guide and had a wealth of knowledge to provide. The tour was informative and fun, and it was definitely a great option for learning about Budapest and its long complex history. Definitely would suggest taking, especially if you are a tourist.

We had a wonderful time with Greg. He is an expert on everything Buda-related and we were lucky to spend a few hours with him as we were able to go to places less travelled.
