City Sightseeing Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Hop-On Hop-Off Bus Tour

We love the opportunity to explore a new city first by bus and then choose the sights we want to take a closer look at. On the way we were with a group (4 adults, 2 children) in October 2024 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Spain). Unfortunately we were very disappointed by this tour and especially the provider City Sightseeing. As in other reviews, many headphone ports were broken, so you had to share the headphones with your neighbor. In addition, we had to change buses on the tour, which is very arduous for disabled people (because you only have good visibility on the upper deck, which can only be reached via steep stairs). Worst of all, the bus did not run reliably at the times posted at the stops. I am not talking about a 5-10 minute delay, which is within a certain acceptable tolerance - because traffic in cities can sometimes just be challenging. However, the app read “Bus is coming in 32 minutes” permanently for almost an hour; so the tracking didn’t seem to work and the delay ended up being more than an hour (or a bus was simply skipped). Persevering for so long at a stop in the blazing sun is unacceptable! Only after a telephone call to the headquarters was a bus sent. This delay also meant that, according to the bus driver who then picked us up after almost 50 minutes, we would not have been able to complete a complete lap on the route to our starting point and had to do without much of the tour. By email we informed the provider about these circumstances afterwards and asked for a partial refund or another free ticket to continue the tour on another day - but this did not show up cultly and instead even claimed that the tour was carried out as planned and we could have managed a complete round - a cheek and definitely not what we were told on site or what we learned. For the price to receive such a low performance and so much trouble is not only sad, but embarrassing for such a company. Since we had to have a similar experience with this provider already in London (there a driver simply called it a half hour earlier than stated in the timetable, we had to continue on our own with two small children and also received no discount / reimbursement / other accommodation), we unfortunately cannot recommend the tour with the “Hop on Hop Off” buses from City Sightseeing at all. Instead, I advise everyone to explore the beautiful cities of the world themselves with the public buses and an audio guide!

Amazing experience. With the 48-hour ticket apart from the bus (with interesting explanations and views of the city) you can do a lot of activities like have a tapas and a drink in some of the restaurants that the map tells you itself. You can also enjoy a walking tour of the historic centre and climb the tower of Santa Ana Cathedral... We'll repeat for sure!

Unfortunately, Las Palmas is an extremely dull city. The full tour takes about 1hr 20mins, I hardly took a photograph due to lack of interesting sites. At €25 each just to ride the streets is extremely poor value.
