Taking the train definitely saves some money. It is only $3, and you don't have to worry about the traffic. From downtown to Midway Airport, most of the time, you will have to change train at Roosevelt station. This is something you need to watch out. At the platform, DO NOT jump on any train stops at the platform. Only take the train with "Midway" sign on train cart because other line trains will share the same platform.
