Chichen Itza and Coba with Cenote Swim from Playa del Carmen

The experience was amazing. It was a long day however it was jam packed with a lot of things. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and very friendly. I would definitely recommend this tour to others. Come ready with lots of water as it is all outdoors and get really hot!

Adrian, Alfredo, and Lorenzo were great! Adrian and Alfredo gave very good informative tour of Mayan ruins, cenotes, and small town. Minus the rain/storm that our group member summoned from her clapping that Adrian egged on, it was great! Lorenzo was excellent driver. Tour was amazing and would definitely tour again with these 3 in charge!

Juan was a great tour guide, Luis too, and Manny was a great driver. They told us pickup was at 8:30am, and they arrived at 8:35; very prompt compared to the poor lady waiting next to us for a different tour had been waiting for an hour! It did take almost another hour before we actually left Cancun because they had to pick up people from other hotels and process our tourism taxes. The drive into Yucatan was about 3.5 hours and they were very upfront about this. Juan told us to prepare for a looong day, and he wasn't kidding. His information about local history and culture, and his jokes, helped pass the time. He really summed it up well: are you a tourist just looking to snap a few pictures, or are you a traveler looking to learn about and experience Mayan culture? Trust me, be a traveler, you will get more out of it. Our first stop was local village where we received a welcome ceremony by a Mayan shaman, shopped for souvenirs, and ate lunch. Yes they try to sell you things, but they are nice locally hand-made crafts and art at reasonable prices. I regret not bringing more cash with me, I would have done most of my souvenir shopping there and was hanging onto some for when we got to Chichen Itza. A short drive after lunch got us to the main event. On the way Juan surprised us with bottles of a local liquor that his colleagues had quickly printed pictures of us on, also fairly priced. Juan was very knowledgeable about the history of Chichen Itza, and answers more in-depth questions from my wife who is an archeologist. Don't dally once the tour is over, the hour of free time goes by quickly and it's a big place. You can get souvenirs here too, and the vendors will try hard to give you a good price, but I honestly thought the things for sale in the village were better value. By the time we left Chichen Itza we were exhausted. If you aren't used to the heat and humidity please don't make our mistake, stay hydrated! We went to the centoe next, and that was a bit chaotic and rushed. It's reasonable to consider doing this separately I think, but it did feel great to jump into the cool water. On the way back to Cancun we stopped in a local town. The street fair going on would have been delightful, but we were dehydrated and tired at this point so we just found a place to sit. But many others on the tour seemed to appreciate the chance for a drink and snack before the rest of the ride back.
