Discover how the influences of two different religions go together in this UNESCO World Heritage monument and visit the Jewish neighborhood.
About the tour
Visit the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, whose name already shows that two beliefs have been of great influence, Christianity and the Islam. The original building that was located on the site of this mosque cathedral was a church, which was demolished by the Moors after conquering Cordoba in order to make place for a mosque. This mosque was the biggest mosque in Europe at the time and the second largest mosque in the world! Admire the construction from the 8th century and discover the columns, double arches, the Magsura, the Mihrab and the impressive choir close to the citizen chapel.
The tour also takes you to one of the most historic areas of Cordoba, the Jewish quarter. The neighborhood is located near the mosque-cathedral where you can visit the synagogue, the Jewish street, the Arab market (Zoco) and the bronze statue of Maimonides. Learn more about the history of Cordoba during this interesting and fascinating tour!
