During this journey you will visit the National Theater, also known as “The jewel of San José”, a masterpiece in art and architecture built by Costa Ricans and completed in 1897. Then visit the Museum of Gold , then the Central Market, place full of the Costa Rican cultural heritage and traditions, where you will be able to browse and buy some local art crafts. You will also visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. As we travel around the city, we will point you out several historically important or main buildings in our city, for example The Costa Rica University, The Old Train Station, The National Liquor Factory, The National Supreme Election Bureau, the Asamblea Legislativa, The Metallic Building, some parks and various sites of interest. This will be an introduction to our Capital City, and information about our economy, cultural, politics, religion and general current events. Also, we will visit an Art Gallery, where you will be able to get some souvenirs to take back home.

    We will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater. Completed in 1897, the theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture.

    We will continue heading to the University of Costa Rica, the Supreme Court and various sites of interest.

    A brief stop will be made in a beautiful art craft shopping store allowing you to browse through it before returning to your hotel and why not, buy some souvenirs for those who are expecting you back at home.

"San José: Guided City Bus Tour With Lunch & Welcome Drink" was excellent, with driver Ivan and host Jordan. I even had email access problems, and the Get-your-guide service quickly responded. The guide was bilingual, as half the visitors preferred Spanish. We saw main parts of San Jose, and had an excellent lunch. The guide was very knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time explaining things to us.

Ruta CR 506 travel agency arranged this tour via Alta Hotel Las Palomas. It was the worse service and tour I experienced. I do not recommend it to anyone. I am highly disappointed the hotel did not vet what kind of tour this was and I am also disappointed that the travel agency lied about the time of pick up. I asked for a refund and they told me I had to go at 9:30 or lose the money. They charged 95USD and everyone else paid 70USd. It was not worth it at all!!!!the lunch was diabolical! The tour guide although friendly failed to capture his audience abs the places visited really fell short of the customer experience. VERY DISAPPOINTING AND A RIP OFF! Do not waste your time or money!

This was a great way to see the city and learn the history of Costa Rica. Our guide, Mario, (aka Bubba), was friendly, kind-hearted, and knowledgeable. He gave us options as we went along to ensure we got the most out of our experience.
