  • Dunluce Castle, Portrush, United Kingdom
    Located on a basalt outcropping right on the north coast of Antrim. This Castle was once the seat of Clan MacDonnell and stood throughout the medieval era as a bastion against invaders from both land and sea. Built in the 13th Century this fortification has seen its way through Irish history ( with a bit of Viking, Christian and British history too!!) and it will see you too as you witness its rugged beauty against the backdrop of the Northern Atlantic Ocean where the Castle stands vigil. Filled with haunting stories of collapsing walls and howling ghosts! Most recently it made an appearance in the Game of Thrones Tv Series as the great Pyke, castle and seat of House Greyjoy. Narnia too has its links to Dunluce as it provided inspiration to C.S.Lewis in his descriptions of Cair Paravel and has even been seen in a Jackie Chan movie called ‘The Medallion’ Dunluce might be the first stop of the day but it may well be the place you’ll never forget!

Recognized as one of the top 100 geological heritage sites worldwide, something that should not be missed by anyone.

    The Dark Hedges being our third stop of the day is one that people travel from all over the world to enjoy. Recognized as one of the most iconic roads in Ireland, this avenue leads up to Gracehill House built around 1775. James Stuart who built the new home, constructed the road and planted the Beech tree’s which now arch over the road to form an atmospheric tunnel filled with the creaking of beams and the mottled light filtering through the canopy above. It can be a spooky enough experience at the Dark Hedges as they are said to be haunted by a mysterious ghost known as The Grey Lady… The Dark Hedges were made world famous by being featured in Game of Thrones representing nothing less than the King’s Road! It’s not all fantasy here though as they were also featured in the 2017 movie Transformers : The Last Knight. Whether it be Autobots, Ghosts, King Robert Baratheon or just the opportunity to take a stroll down this beautiful avenue; The Dark Hedges has what you seek.

    Located right by the enormous dry dock which once housed the Titanic Ocean Liner and of course inspired the namesake for Belfast’s first whiskey distillery opened since prohibition! The history of the Thompson Dock where the distillery is located is a story that will be told to you on your Whiskey tour, from ships to whiskey! You will be introduced to whiskey making in Ireland and why this distillery is the first working one opened in Belfast for over 90 years! Titanic Whiskey is a new whiskey but you will create old memories here as you are guided through the distillation process and of course a tasting experience that will leave you rose-cheeked and ready for more. This award winning distillery is here to stay so be among those who can say ‘I was there, I tried Titanic Whiskey and I didn’t sink!’

    For the last stop on your tour we will visit Belfast city centre before returning back to Dublin. An area of land that has been inhabited since the Bronze Age. Having been at the forefront of so many parts of Irish History it is hard to know where to even begin so make sure to ask your guide! We will drop you off right by Belfast City Hall with enough time to grab some snacks for the road home or maybe even sneak in a cheeky pint! Explore around the city hall and its environs before returning to your coach for the return journey home to Dublin.

Experience: The views were astonishing throughout the trip. We got to see cattle, sheep, and horses on the drive as well as on the red trail for Giant’s Causeway. The tour provided just enough time to enjoy and savor each stop. There’s a stop for snacks in the beginning but bring food if you want more than gas station sandwiches and snacks. The whiskey tasting experience was a fun and interactive experience, tastes amazing, and was building was coated in a rich aroma, 10/10! 100% recommend if visiting Dublin. Tour guide/driver : Quiggs was very charismatic, humorous, and had intriguing stories to tell about the history of Ireland. It was a great listen counting in the fact that you could hear the passion in his voice. At no point did I feel unsafe while Thomas was driving. They’re a great duo, couldn’t have asked for better for this tour. Bonus points for the musical performance Mr. Quiggs conducted!

Lite stiff miljö och inte särskilt god whiskey. Whiskey produceras inte på stället de saknar tillstånd och lagringskapacitet. Bra info om själva tillverkningsprocessen men som sagt inget speciellt alls.

What an amazing way to spend my birthday. We learned so much, and we're entertained the entire time. The locations were beautiful and we had plenty of time to enjoy all of the things we wanted to do. Highly recommend you check this out.
