    Then passing by the Garbage City in Cairo where it`s located in a very local neigborhood that calls Manshiyat naser, or “Garbage City in Cairo” as it’s better known as, is a slum settlement located to the southeast of Cairo. Its inhabitants are affectionately known as “Garbage People”, because they have been sustaining themselves for decades as Cairo’s unofficial sanitation crew. The Garbage People, comprising mostly Coptic Christians, first immigrated to Cairo in the 1930s in search of big city dreams and land under their feet. Being very poor, and without a solid 401k plan, they got by whatever way they could: living in makeshift housing and recycling the city’s compostable waste products by feeding it to their pigs. Today, Cairo’s Garbage People make ends meet by going door to door to pick up people’s trash for a nominal fee, which is then brought back to their Garbage City neighborhoods. There, they sort and recycle everything they could, using it for their own manufacturing.

What we experienced while doing the tour is far from what they offer/ advertise and is way overpriced. On top of it, the guide needed to be more professional and prepared for the tour - he talked about anything that came to mind except for what he was hired to do. While on this awful experience, we contacted the tour operator regarding this matter - the representative was rude, dismissive, and gaslighted us repeatedly by asking the same questions and telling us "to calm down". I have used Viator for other tours and have had beautiful experiences. Sadly this was not the case. Don't book this tour!

I don't know were to begin for this tour has left me speechless. Yes, seeing the pyramid and the Sphinx are definitely incredible and a must see. However, if you want to see something mind blowing (and not dead); YOU MUST BOOK this tour. Seeing Garage City and the Cave Church are one of most incredible things that I have even seen. Even now I am still processing all that I saw.... it's beautiful, shocking and so profound all roll up. This tour has had a definite impact on me . SO If you are looking to see something outside of the normal places to visit in Egypt then I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour !!!!! You will not be disappointed.

The trip, was supposed to last for six hours. It only took 1:45 minutes than the guide contacted the office where I organised the trip and to continue I had to pay another 80 usd. I don’t think it’s the guide’s fault, I think he was fine but it was the office that was telling me I had to pay extra. They by the way started with 130 dollars and then I had to haggle them for a lower price. I don’t understand why, I booked a guide and a van for six hours, we were finished very fast so it should still have been okay to do something else? The tour started at 8 and lasted until 1 so all in all I paid 217 dollars for a five hour tour. It’s a complete rip off if you ask me.
