    visit from outside please note that : The Qaitbay Citadel in Alexandria is considered one of the most important defensive strongholds in Egypt and along the Mediterranean coast. In the 15th century A.D., it was essential to Alexandria's fortifications. The Citadel resides at the entrance of the eastern harbor on the east point of Pharos Island. It was erected on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The lighthouse continued to function until the time of the Arab conquest. Several disasters occurred, and the shape of the lighthouse was changed to some extent, but it continued to work. Restoration began during Ahmed Ibn Tulun (about 880 A.D). During the 11th century, an earthquake damaged the octagonal part. The bottom survived but could only serve as a watchtower, so a small Mosque was built on the top. We have an enjoyable time in Alexandria, made possible by Tamer, Ahmed and Hesham Egypt. Our driver, Tamer was a very good, skilful & safe driver. He’s very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. Always opening door for me and providing help and information eagerly. To and fro Alexandria, he had a rest stop for toilet break and a short rest. We made good time in reaching Alexandria. Our tour guide, Ahmed was very informative and helpful. On the way to Alexandria, he gave us a brief introduction of the Egyptian history and its timeline. He was always pointing out to the various landmarks on the way. He led us through the insides of every sites and accompanying us throughout even though that day was terribly hot, while providing us information about the site. Always willing to help us take pictures too. As we visited Alexandria on Friday, on which Alexandria Library was closed, I made a request to replace the library with a trip to the Roman Theatre. The company Hesham was very kind to accommodate our request, even gave us free tickets to the theatre. I could easily communicate with Hesham through phone call. Due to the long journey to and fro Alexandria, we only had about three hours to visit the four sites. With Ahmed experience and help in monitoring the timing, amazingly we managed to complete visiting the four sites comfortably. However, the queue at the Fish Market restaurant was long and required an hour wait. So, as we have a long trip back to Cairo, we decided to lunch at another restaurant just below, which has a nice view of the Mediterranean Sea and the citadel too, as well as good food. Overall, we have a fruitful and enjoyable trip. Thank you Tamer, Ahmed and Hesham Egypt. ????????

We originally called this company just to arrange transport from Alexandria to Cairo and had planned a self directed tour of the major sites. We asked last minute if the transport company did toura and they obliged. Ahmed picked us up at our hotel and he knew we had a timeline. We saw 4 sites in 4 hours despite the chaos and bad roads in Alexandria. Ahmed gave us one of the best concise summaries of the history of Egypt. We enjoyed his company and his pace. Well done!
