    In our 4×4 vehicles we enter the estancia Huyliche where after crossing the trail for approximately 2 hours. We will reach an altitude of 950 MSNM arriving at the Balcones del Calafate. From this privileged panoramic point we will be able to visualize the beauty of the landscape, the immensity of Lake Argentino, views of the city of El Calafate, the source of the Perito Moreno Glacier and the Fitz Roy and Torre hills, emblems of El Chaltén.

This was not the type of tour I expected, but it turned out to be very enjoyable. We were tightly packed into a 4WD vehicle for about an hour as we drove along a bumpy dirt road to the top of one of the plateaus that overlooks El Calafate. The views from the top were beautiful sweeping views of El Calafate, the Andes, and Lake Argentino. The guide cooked some marinated beef on an old outdoor stone stove for some tasty sandwiches. Plenty of food, wine, soda, water.

Contratamos la excursion por turismo calafate.com y le hicimos el pago a Salum T&T, una experiencia de terror. Empezando por la camioneta 4 x4 que te pasa a buscar, entras en la parte trasera con asientos de espalda a la ventanilla totalmente incomodos y de baja altura, mi cabeza chocaba con el techo, debia ir inclinado, tampoco habia espacio para las piernas. a parter de no ver absolutamente nada hacia afuera, solo podiamos ver por la ventanilla trasera, mis piernas chocaban con el pasajero de enfrente. La camioneta se movia como era pensado ya que era un viaje 4x4 pero la incomididad era extrema. El guia de la excursion muy poco amable, incluso al finalizar la misma y llevarnos de vuelta al hotel ni siquiera nos abrio la puerta trasera para bajar, ni descendio de la camioneta. hicimos la excursion Balcone de Calafate el 30/09/21 x la mañana

The tour was interesting and Hector drove us to see a couple information panels located on the trails so we’d know about what we were seeing and the geological history. However, we signed up for a tour that included English and Hector does not speak English. He did all that he could, was very friendly and our sign language communications helped get through the half day. Lunch was a wonderful surprise, cooked before our eyes. It was very good and all 7 of us enjoyed it. Hector drove the vehicle to pick all of us up, drove the whole tour, did what he could to help us understand, cooked, served, cleaned up and drove us back to the hotels. We could all use a man like Hector! ¡Muchas gracias, Hector! Viator, please change your advertising about the languages available.
