Visit and learn about two essential places in Madrid in one morning. We will start the day with a full visit to the Royal Palace, a gigantic building symbolic of the European monarchs, that will surprise us with its rich decoration and the number of rooms and halls it contains. After a walking guided visit the main iconic places of Madrid between the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum, we will finish our journey with with a 90-minute tour of the Museo del Prado, seeing its most outstanding rooms and paintings. Special emphasis will be placed on the paintings that have in one way or another changed the history of art and become universal references. We will get to see works by Murillo, Velázquez, Goya, Rubens, and Tiziano among many others. All of these visits will be made using points of preferential access, with official guides and with entrance fees included. This way, all that you have to worry about is enjoying Madrid and its beautiful monuments.

We really enjoyed the tour of the palace and the Prado. Our guide was super knowledgeable and spent a lot of time explaining everything that we were seeing. She must have been an art major in school. A couple of things to be aware of… it is about 3 miles of walking total and some parts are cobblestone so wear comfortable shoes. There is not a lot of time to spend in the gift shop at the palace. The tour through the Prado focuses on very specific pieces of art, but the tour ends there so you can go back and look at the rest of it on your own.

Marta was our guide and she made this tour excellent from start to finish. She was so informative but mixed it with a liberal dose of humour which was so refreshing. The pace of the tour was great and we moved between locations with ease, even stopping for a bite of lunch along the way. The Royal Palace was an experience and while at the Prado Museum, Marta focused on the most important works of art and explained in depth, their significance. A wonderful day in Madrid and would highly recommend Naturanda.
