    This tour is unique in that you have an arranged bus ride, meeting times, and get any tour information given on the bus, however, you as the individual go through Pisa on your own. Simply rating the services of the bus, tour guide, and organization, I have given it a very good. However, Pisa, compared to the other cities my husband and I visited, left much to be desired. There are some great food establishments off the beaten path by the university and of course, it was great to see the tower, but honestly, that's about it. Our guide was professional and courteous. The company, CAF, is great and would do another tour through them, just maybe for another location.

    We booked our trip from the UK so you never know what it’s going to be like and other than it being a little tricky finding the bus everything was excellent. The driver of the coach was good and you felt safe and the tour guide on the bus was informative without rambling on and was very happy to be asked any further questions. We left at 1.30 and it took about 1 hour 10 minutes to get to Pisa and then there was a 10 minute walk from the bus park. From there we were greeted by another more local tour guide who was really good and made the information a little more fun and interesting. We chose not to go up the Pisa and had a wander around which was really lovely to have the time whereas the people who climbed it was a little more rushed. We got back from the tour about 7pm. All in all we would very much recommend CAF tours.

    I did the bus only option. I explored Pisa on my own after seeing what I wanted to see from the Leaning Tower and the Duomo. That was enough time to venture off on my own. Be careful of the romas, those pick pocketers are waiting for the tour groups to de-board the busses, and they work in pairs sometimes using umbrellas to steal from your backpacks/bags. They don't care if you're walking in a group, they pick their mark/target and will try and steal your valuables. I was walking behind two girls getting ready to pickpocket from a couple, as they opened their bag, I yelled loudly. The pickpocketers, walked away, but their victims were still clueless even after people near me told them what happened. Be aware and alert of your surroundings. This area is crawling with roma
