  • Most catholic churches in Italy require a dress code in order to enter. For The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, you are requested to be covered from shoulders to knees (shoulders, chest, stomach and thighs must be all covered by clothing) It is permissible to wear shorts, provided that they are long enough to cover your thighs and knees. You are also permitted to wear tank tops or spaghetti strap dresses, but you will need to bring with you a garment (shawl, jacket, cardigan) that can cover all the exposed parts between your shoulders and knees when you enter the building. Thank you for your understanding and if please contact us if you require further clarification.
  • The tickets included with your tour are valid for one-time entrance to every site of the Opera del Duomo complex (Museum, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Crypt). As part of the tour, you will enter the museum, private terraces and climb to the top of the dome. These sites will not be accessible a second time with the ticket that we provide. So, for example: If you wish to visit the museum again after the tour, you will need to independently purchase a new ticket. You can use the ticket provided to enter (one time per site) the remaining location: The Bell Tower, Baptistery and Cathedral Crypt. Post-tour the skip-the-line service is no longer guaranteed. Please show your ticket to the personnel at each site and they will indicate the first time slot available for you.

Our guide Francesca has a master's degree in art history and it showed as she taught our entire group so much about the history of Florence as well as the backgrounds of many of its key artists like Michaelangelo and Botticelli. It can't be understated how valuable skipping the ticket lines was, the line to buy them to enter the dome not only was horribly long but I noticed after the tour that they had sold out. Communication from Viator and Fat Tire Tours was superb, I was kept to date all the way to just before the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, you won't be disappointed!

Brian was an amazing tour guide! So passionate about the duomo and Florence’s history, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating to the group’s needs. He ensures comfort early at the beginning of the tour — he states that everyone can go at their own pace with the 400 stairs up to the dome, and that no one is in a rush. He also knows the best views and photo opportunities at the top! Thanks for making history so fun, Brian!
