As we drove from Vancouver to Whistler, we saw the sign for this museum, we were so pleased that we stopped and decided to take a look.
What a fantastic experience, we took took the underground tour and were thoroughly entertained by our guide who was an absolute "mine"of information about the history and workings of the mine. The other exhibits and buildings were so very interesting as well.
Visiting the colossal size of Mill No. 3, called the Concentrator a 20 story building and its gravity fed concentrator for ore processing is worth the visit on its own.

Beyond amazing.
Better value for money than we expected.
How is this such a hidden gem we've missed for so many years?
We've lived in Vancouver area for almost a long time now. Have passed this place on the way to Sechelt, Whistler etc and it always "looked" interesting and was on our list to visit. Finally able to make a destination and do a visit yesterday.
Boom, like their superb multimedia show in the old Mill, it was phenomenal experience all around.
Hard to describe. They clearly have some very creative, smart folks putting this together.
It is more than a museum. It is experiential and immersive.
Starting with the tram ride INTO the mine. That experience alone was worth the admission price. Unbelieveble they are able to maintain and operate some of this old mining equipment.
But even more profound to actually feel what it might have been like to have been a muck or miner back in the early 1900s when it opened.
We will have to return again, since there were so many other cleverly curated displays, 3 hours was not enough!
So many of the staff we interacted with were clearly so enthusiastic and happy to be there.
Oh, and the spectacular location alone contributed to the value.
