In this full-day small group tour, discover the Giethoorn, picturesque town where people live with and on the water. Enjoy a boat cruise along the restored farm houses. You will have some free time for lunch and to explore the place on your own. The tour will continue on to the Enclosing Dike (Afsluitdijk), the 32 kilometer dike connecting the provinces of North Holland and Friesland. The Afsluitdijk, built to tame what was formerly the Zuiderzee (now the Ijsselmeer lake) is a prime example of Dutch water prowess. Then we head back to Amsterdam. .

The day trip to Giethoorn and Afsluitdijk from Amsterdam was absolutely amazing! Giethoorn was like a fairytale — peaceful canals, charming cottages, and beautiful gardens everywhere. The boat trip through the village was so relaxing and offered incredible views. Visiting Afsluitdijk was equally impressive, a true engineering marvel with stunning sea views. The entire tour was well-organized, and the guide was friendly and informative. It was a perfect day full of beautiful sights and unique experiences. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting to explore more of the Netherlands!

The leisurely village of Giethoorn is a welcomed gear change and a perfect excursion for those wanting to escape the sometimes fast-paced city of Amsterdam. Sit back and watch the world slowly pass by in an almost fairytale-like setting. TIP: Ensure you retrieve your ticket from the Centraal Station ticket office before approaching the coach.

REGRETS / digue de fermeture. L'arrêt du car n'est pas assez long pour permettre de voir l'expo apparemment très interessante dans le batiment et j'aurai préféré que le guide signale l'expo (ce qui n'a pas été fait) plutôt que d'inciter à la montée sur la terrasse d'observation qui n'offre aucun interêt et fait perdre du temps. Le village de Giethoorn est splendide et la balade en bâteau sur les canaux et le lac est agréable.
