You will discover the forest and nature at the "Serras do Porto" park. Leave the noise and stress of the city behind and enter in a natural park where you can hike in the mountains, just beside river, cross suspended bridges and visit ancient villages inhabited by only 5 people. In this perfect bucolic landscapes we will stop for a picnic with traditional products, cheese, fruit, and beverage, including local wine if desired. During the walk it's usual to see the shepherd and his sheep. Feel embraced by the nature, this peaceful place where you only hear the relaxing sound of the river and the birds! Don't forget to bring your camera as you will take amazing photos.
  • Fruit salad, water melon, roasted sausage, smoked meats, cheese, bread, lupines, olives, egg custards (pastel de nata), and green wine (vinho verde). Fully vegetarian or vegan picnic available.

This was the highlight of our trip to Porto. After days in several cities among crowds, we were craving nature time. We got it with this hike. Ricardo did a great job guiding us on this moderately challenging hike. We had a lovely lunch and learned some history of the area and got our nature fix. As an added bonus, Ricardo's sweet dog Shy accompanied us, allowing us to get our dog fix in too. Highly recommend to nature lovers visiting the Porto area!

Wonderful hike with Ricardo and his friendly dog, Shy. She has matured as a friendly dog. We saw beautiful places with excellent views and narration about nature and the village. It was a nice change from touring in large cities, and so close to Porto and Gaia. The group was friendly and looked out for one another. Ricardo always offered a helping hand if wanted on the steeper and slippery sections of the trail. Significant elevation gain and steepness, and some slippery sections when wet. Wonderful picnic! I am a vegetarian, and there was good food for everyone. Highly recommended for fit and experienced hikers.

We were looking for an adventure the whole family could enjoy. We had five twenty year olds and two parents in their fifties. The hike was challenging enough to be enjoyed by all and yet quite manageable for the non- hikers in the group. The best part was Ricardo and his companion Shy who were awesome hosts. I’d highly recommend this half day adventure to anyone.
