Visit the Lagoa do Fogo Caldeira. We take some secondary roads to get the best views that others miss out on. At the top of Pico da Barrosa the highest point is 947 meters. It is here that we find some of the most spectacular views of the island.

Our tour guide Eddie was not only knowledgeable but also passionate about the Azores, and his enthusiasm was contagious. He shared fascinating insights into the history, geography, and local customs, making the journey not just an adventure but also an educational experience. The Jeep tour allowed us to explore hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path locations that are otherwise inaccessible. Standing on the viewpoint, I was mesmerized by the contrasting hues of the lakes, and the vibrant green of the surrounding vegetation. The jeep (a beautiful blue Land Rover Defender) itself was comfortable, well-maintained, and perfectly suited for the rugged terrain we encountered. Our skilled driver navigated through challenging trails with expertise, ensuring our safety while adding an element of excitement to the journey. Throughout the tour, Eddie shared captivating stories about the local flora, fauna, and geological formations, which enhanced our understanding and appreciation of the Azorean ecosystem. He also made sure to provide ample time for us to explore and capture photographs at each stop, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the surroundings. The tour concluded with a recommendation to visit to a quaint local restaurant, where had a great steak lunch as a perfect ending to a remarkable day. If you're visiting the Azores, I highly recommend embarking on a Jeep tour with Eddie and Greenzone.

We took this tour with Gui, and he was fantastic. He had a wealth of knowledge and did a great job explaining the history of the island. The views were amazing - would highly recommend!

Vi var på jeep-tur med Sergio Gonzalves fra Greenzone Tours, Sao Miguel, Azores to gange. Begge gange var han meget serviceminded, meget hjælpsom og sørgede for at vi på en tryg måde fik en stor oplevelse. Vi kom ud mange steder, vi aldrig selv ville have fundet. Og så var han meget hjælpsom med at tage flotte fotos. Hvis vejret ikke var med os et særligt sted, havde han altid andre forslag. Sergio Gonzalves får vores varmeste anbefaling.
