After passing immigration at Tunis Airport, you will find a café near the money exchange counter. Please be careful with this place, especially if the lights are dim or the shop looks half-closed.
They do not show you the menu and will overcharge for drinks — in my case, coffee was charged at nearly 10 times the normal price. When I asked about the price, they avoided giving clear information until the bill came.
It seems that some local guides and even drivers don’t intervene or warn tourists, and in some cases may even support the sellers. For example, I was shown a carpet “priced” at USD 100, and the local guide claimed he also paid the same, which felt misleading.
⚠️ My advice: Always ask to see the menu and the price before ordering or buying anything in Tunisia. Do not rely only on the word of sellers, drivers, or even local guides. Stay cautious to avoid being overcharged.
