75 km from Hanoi, is this quaint little hill station, Tam Dao! Pretty landscape and a vibrant atmosphere made it a worth while trip to make but the cherry on the cake is the road side food stalls...amazing food!! Heaps of marinated stuff which you choose from and is grilled for you and served fresh and warm. Mushroom or greens rolled in meat slices..squash leaves sautéd with garlic, eggs wrapped in aluminum foil and then roasted; sticky rice cooked in bamboo sticks to name a few local delicacies. The place to sit is like any basic road side stall but the view makes up for it. Especially as the evening progresses into night and the fog covers the area..looks so mystic! The service is rustic but ever so warm and welcoming!
