Crystal Ice Cave Adventure

Exciting experience, I couldn't stop smiling. I recommend the tour with Glacier Adventure. The hiking on the Glacier is easy and the route is surreal. Our guide was very helpful and kind. He told us some history of the place we were as well.

We had a great Ice Cave visit with Glacier Adventure! I have done a lot of adventure activities previously and this is definitely one of the more relaxed ones, but my wife is just starting to get into these and she loved it, so thats a win for me! :) you start out at their office where they provide free tea, coffee, hot choc then take a superjeep out to the glacier which takes about 30min. Its a bit bumpy and you need to drive through some small streams but that's off-roading! then its about a 20min walk (fairly flat but amazing to be out near the glacier) to the cave entrance where you put on some crampons to enter the ice cave. The ice cave itself is impressive and just like the photos we saw on the website, though it was obviously starting to melt at this time of the year and I think may not be accessible later in April. I took my SLR and tripod which should give you an idea of the intensity of this activity as I could carry the tripod with me even in the cave itself. our guide Kristina was great, she is obviously very passionate and had some funny stories though she can work on the endings a bit better ;) We would recommend this trip for anyone who doesnt want too strenuous of an adventure but still wants to see an amazing product of nature!

This is a do not miss experience! The sights are spectacular. Our guide, Kish, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to take photos of us in the caves. Just the drive to the glacier alone was exciting in the van with the giant tires. But then the 30 minute walk up to the glacier, and seeing some hikers along the glacier itself made us realize how small us humans really are. The walk into the ice cave itself was breathtaking. Shades of blue like you've never seen before! Kish explained how the glaciers are receding and new caves are discovered. Watch climatevis.com. It's frightening and fascinating at the same time. Wearing the supplied microspikes on our boots made us feel very secure walking along the paths. We loved Kish, and would also like the thank the Glacial Adventure owner (sorry I forgot his name) for such a great experience. It made our trip to Iceland very special. Book early!
