This tour advertised that the guide was "highly trained, friendly story teller& that snacks & water would be provided. What I got was a driver who could barely communicate in English & when I asked him where the guide was he mentioned Laxmi Vilas. But when we got there the "guide" he was referring, to turned out to be an audio guide provided by the palace !! The rest of the trip consisted of very brief photo stops & some one or two words about the places. No snacks or water was provided at all !! I eventually got fed up & asked to be dropped off at a mall to have lunch find my own way back to the airport using a Uber. Suddenly he managed to string a few words of English & offered to meet me later in the afternoon & take me back to the airport for INR 700, which I accepted to avoid difficulties finding a Uber. As for the tour agency, despite sending them a message a day earlier about picking me up at the arrival lobby, they did not reply but called 5 mins before pick up time to tell to contact the driver to pick me up. They declined to contact the driver on my behalf. My advice to others considering this package by Go Goa Tours is that it's NOT RECOMMENDED!! As their advertising did not match the poor services they provided. It would be better just to hire a Uber for 4 hours & visit all the places.

Vadodara offers good food and some tourist attractions. Enjoyed good Gujarati thali meals in Alkapuri. Purchased sweets and savory items in Jagdish. Very good snacks. The Laxshmi Vilas Palace is huge. A visit to this palace is worth it. The museum has many amazing Ravi Verma paintings plus European art collection. The MS University is also huge. Lots of walls in the city are covered with Art. Easy to move around with Uber.
