  • Lake Chuzenji, Nikko, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan
    Lake Chuzenji is Japan’s highest natural lake, located just west of Nikko and is part of the Nikko National Park. It formed about 20,000 years ago when neighboring Mt. Nantai erupted and its lava flow dammed the Daiyo River. The lake tips the altitude scales at 1,269 meters.

    Kegon Falls is a 97-meter high waterfall that lies in Nikko city. The water from the Chuzenji Lake feeds the fall. Visitors to Kegon Falls, which is one of the three highest waterfalls in Japan, can use an elevator to enjoy the powerful falls.

We had a great day. Our tour guide spoke perfect English. He was easy to reach through the WhatsApp before and during the tour. I lost where the car was parked at the temple. I was easily able to message our driver and he came to pick us up. I was traveling with my 2 parents in their 80’s. He was knowledgeable, pleasant, and on time. It was a great day.

I recently went on a guided tour of the Nikko and it was absolutely incredible! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and made the experience all the more enjoyable. We got to see some of the most breathtaking views I've ever seen in my life, and learned so much about the geology and history of the area. The tour was well organized, with plenty of stops for breaks and photo opportunities. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the Nikko up close and personal!

Lovely and convenient tour. Our guide Abdullah was excellent, his driving and navigation was superb and his knowledge of the area ensured we saw all the sights in Nikko which is a beautiful place.
