Beyond calligraphy, you can also catch a glimpse of the Japanese lifestyle. The lesson is held at the instructor's house, so you can see where and how Japanese people live! If you are curious about the Japanese lifestyle and culture, this is a great chance. You can bring back the fan or colored paper you make! Once you have written your character or word on the fan or colored paper, you can bring it back home with you as a only one souvenir in the world!!

Maki is really an awesome teacher! Not only she explained the shodo culture but also japan culture as well. Recommend 10/10!

Maki is an effortless, careful and systematic teacher. She makes Shodo look less daunting, and I could get engaged in the process in a way that it felt like I'm painting, with some key rules! Will take her session again and visit soon. Highly recommend!

It was a surprise birthday gift for my partner, currently working and living in Tokio, and Maki was lovely and helpful. She prepared something special for the birthday and he enjoyed and learnt so much. I would highly recommend the experience and hope to be able to travel to Japan and enjoy it myself.
