    Finally, make your way to the medieval village of Óbidos. Founded in 208 BC, Óbidos is commonly known in Portugal as the 'wedding present town', as it was a gift from King Dinis to Queen Isabel on their wedding day in 1282. Follow your guide to one of the numerous wine shops and sample the Ginja liqueur, and then enjoy free time to explore the village’s medieval fortress, narrow streets, colorful houses and Gothic doorways and windows decorated with flowerpots and dazzling tiles. Grab a snack or browse around the tiny shops that offer a varied collection of beautiful handmade ceramic art before making your way back to Lisbon.

Todo empezó bien! A tiempo en nuestro hotel para iniciar el viaje a Fatima. Conocimos a Franco, nuestro guía, y la experiencia mejoro con solo su presencia. A partir de ahi, compartió todo el camino en español e ingles y la verdad hizo que la experiencia fuera espectacular. Franco conoce los temas, sabe como transmitirlos de manera jovial y sin caer en irrespeto. Todos quedamos satisfechos. Recomendado sin dudarlo.

Our family enjoyed a very good and full day visiting Fatima, Nazare and Obidos. Our tour guide Simone was excellent. On the drive during the day, she balanced sharing wonderful insights and the history of Portugal including the significance of the Carnation Revolution (as the tour was the day before the anniversary of the Carnation Revolution) with comfortable silence to enjoy the scenery. And the ginja tasting in Obidos is not to be missed.

Our guide helped us have the best day. The places we stopped were amazing and he even got us into an awesome restaurant for lunch. It was a great experience.
