    This was a part of the Presidential Palace until it was separated from the Building and still remains as an enclave of the area. It houses Moroccan Scholar Abul Barakat yousef Al-Berberi, who is believed to have introduced Islam to the nation in 1153.

    Also known as the Islamic center of the Maldives, it is named after one of the most celebrated Maldivian hero, Sultan Muhammad Thakurufaanu Al Auzam of the Maldives. Up until 2021, this remained the largest mosque in the Maldives. This Center serves as a conference hall, an Islamic Library and also houses Ministry of Islamic Affairs of the Maldives.

Spent an enjoyable afternoon with Sarwan strolling around the city center of Male, and taking a ferry to visit Vilimale. Vilimale is a quiet town near Male, and no disel cars are allowed. We took an electirc bus to see the island, and walked around to see how locals spend their weekends swimming, diving and having fun in the pristine local beach. Sarwan is a great tour guide who's informative and accomodating. Was dropped off on time at the airport for the transfer to livebaord. Highly recommended for a leisure afternoon in the city with Sarwan!

Sarwan picked me up from the airport and we spent a lovely afternoon strolling around Male city center, followed by a short ferry ride to Vilimale. Vilimale is a carbon free island and the local beach is stunning! The island has it all - eateries, supermarket, market, hospital, school, etc. Learned about the local life in Maldives and was great to see how the locals spend their weekends on the island where they reside. Sarwan sent me back to the aiport in time for the next pick up!
