3 Days Adventured Tour to Danakil Depression

We spent three unforgettable days exploring the Afar region with Zagol Ethiopia Tours (Facebook link). Our guide, Mullewi, took excellent care of us throughout the journey, making sure everything ran smoothly. After flying into Semera, we traveled by car across vast stretches of lava fields until we reached the surreal salt lake. We even drove across the lake itself to reach the sulfuric area, where the colors of the landscape were simply extraordinary—like being on another planet. We spent our first night under the stars in a village by the salt lake. The following day, we continued to the base of the Erta Ale volcano, where we spent our second night. We were also lucky to have a cook with us who prepared delicious meals right on site, even in such remote conditions. This trip took us to one of the hottest places on Earth—an intense and unforgettable experience. After the raw beauty and heat of the desert, our third night back in Semera—at a quiet hotel—felt like a luxury. A proper shower and a peaceful night's sleep were the perfect way to end this incredible journey.
