Pikey Peak trek in the lower section of the Everest region is especially designed for those who like to explore nature and are interested in the local culture but may not have time for a longer trip or are unable to go to high elevations. A beautiful Jhapre Buddhist Monastery is located top of the ridge. It is a main local religious center of the area. Pikey peak trek offers spectacular Mountain View throughout the trail including six world’s highest peaks Mt. Everest, Kanchejunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Manaslu and Annapurna. You will also experience local culture, tradition and Hospitality of Sherpa, Tamang and Magar People. Pikey Peak (4065m.) summit provides 360 degree view of Himalaya, surrounding valleys and so beautiful Sunrise view. Thupten Chholing Monastery, which is one of the main religious centers of entire Everest region and the home of late Thulsik Rimpoche. Late Thulsik Rimpoche was one of the main religious figures of Buddhism and was in his 31st reincarnation.

Ambar Tamang contact was shared with me by my Lebanese trekking friends. Since I have been working and living 3 years in Nepal from 2019 to 2022, I have trekked several times with Ambar. He was the one who introduced me to Nepal trekking and who allowed me to discover Nepali wonderful cultures. In these years of COVID, despite the many restrictions that we had to face, regarding traveling in the country, he was very creative and eager to propose very interesting treks, out of the “beaten trails”, from Annapurna’s to Pikey Peak, Mardi Himal, and a lot more… Ambar is a child of the mountain, from the Tamang community; he has a long and rich experience of his country.
