My friend and I had a very nice snorkel at Goat Island in mid-May. We saw a good variety of fish, and a couple of rays. Naturally we were hoping to encounter dolphins, fur seals, etc. but they weren’t available to visit with us that afternoon. Our guide did his best to scope out the more elusive sea creatures, but naturally there’s always an element of luck and timing when it comes to nature!
We enjoyed having the opportunity to explore on our own once the official tour was over, and we returned our snorkel gear to the dive shop later that afternoon.

GOAT island dive and snorkel did a great job explaining things and safety issues. Our equipment fit well and our guide Conner showed us the dish we might in our preparation. In the water it was very nice with Conner showing the fish and filming the event. We would do it again even though the sea was too rough and we had to go to Matheson Bay.

This was my first time snorkeling, but my boyfriend has done it before so I signed us up for the Advanced Guided Snorkel Experience. I was a little nervous as I'd never worn a wet suit and barely had swam in the ocean, but the experience was outstanding! We wet out to Goat Island despite some swell and murky water and it was a great time. I saw tons of red snapper, an eagle ray, and a few other kinds of fish that I forget the name of.
I was also very impressed because when I was trying to book reservations ahead of time, they didn't have anything posted for the day I wanted to go. I emailed them and they actually made slots available for that day! Would highly recommend!
