We found the staff absolutely fantastic here and the landscape is utterly fascinating!
The mud bath is a bit touristy. You sit in a murky pool and dig mud out of a bucket to slap on you. We cut ours short because a bunch of loud kids got in our ‘bath.’ Then you move to a sulphur spa which was pretty relaxing.
Beware - your skin will ooze sulphur smell for a few days, and I’ll probably have to throw my swimmers out.
Also, there’s no privacy in the change rooms. I’m totally fine being naked around strangers but I could see other women were struggling to change while trying to hold a towel up.
It’s also a bit pricy - but we’re finding most things a bit over priced in NZ.
Overall, worth doing.
