  • Horton Plains National Park, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka
    6:00am: Make a pre-dawn start to Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 7:30am - 12:30pm: Take a guided walk along the park's nature trails to a viewpoint known as World’s End. You may encounter a variety of wildlife including endemic Rhino-horned and Hump-nosed Lizards, highland bird species including the Sri Lanka White-eye, Dull-blue Flycatcher, Sri Lanka Bush Warbler, Yellow-eared Bulbul. Also keep your eye out for troops of Bear Monkey, and Sambar (Sri Lanka’s largest species of deer) which are regularly seen in the plains close to the entrance. You will continue your journey up to Bakers Falls, named after the famous explorer, Sir Samuel Baker. 12:30pm: Drive to Nuwara Eliya for Lunch at Royal Hills hotel

  • Pedro Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka
    3:30pm- 5pm: Visit the Tea Plantation and Pedro Tea Factory to learn about tea production and its significance to the Sri Lankan economy. Sri Lanka (formerly called Ceylon) is the world's 4th largest tea exporter, responsible for roughly 25% of the world's tea exports. Today, more than 200,000 hectares in highlands and other areas are dedicated to tea production. After sightseeing, you will be dropped back off at your hotel.

Vi havde booket turen gennem Beyond Escapes og vores guide/driver, mr. Anajana, var venlig og imødekommende og kunne besvare alle vores spørgsmål. Turen til Horton Plains var fantastisk og mr. Anajana havde styr på det hele! Turen til teplantagen var dog skuffende, da vi havde forventet mere end 15 minutters gennemgang af fabrikken til prisen vi gav. Dette havde dog intet med Mr. Anjana at gøre! Efter aftale med Mr. Anjana er her hans kontaktnummer: +94 76 552 1290.

Horton’s national park is a must visit place. Beyond escapes arranged the tour nicely and the guide Anjana was very good, friendly and professional. He knew the details, where to go, where to find things and where to capture the most scenic view. Lunch was also nicely arranged. Overall, worth the time you spend there

Horton Plains was Amazing, the van provided was NOT, we were actually scared at one point going up the steep hills to get to the destination, it was unsafe and this tour company should not be allowed to operate with a van that is falling apart
